2009 Rehearsal Photos!

News New children's beginner dance class We are glad to announce that a new children's dance class is starting this coming Saturday, April 17th, 10am at our studio. The class will be taught by Ms. Vianna Tam. Ms. Tam has Beijing Academy's overseas dance curriculum teacher's certificate, for toddlers and young kids. Furthermore Ms Tam has been dancing for more than 30 years, has been teacher-in-training under Ms Lu in the past 4 years, and loved by the little angels at our studio. We are thrilled that she is taking on this new challenge, believing she will be outperforming herself once again. Congratuldations to the dancers for their outstanding performances! Dec. 19 and 20 at the Louis Mayer theater our dancers presented beautiful performances to their families and friends. Tracy, a regular volunteer at the Mayer Theater for more than 10 years, said it was the best show she had ever seen. The theater managers Joe and Steve thanked us for bringing such a great show to the theater as well. Congratuldations to the dancers! Thanks to all the class moms and all other production staff! Gearing up for a great show season Welcome back to our fall session, everyone! Please note that under popular request, this year we will have two shows instead of one. Our annual showcase is on 12/19 (7pm) and 12/20 (4pm), Saturday and Sunday. For those participating the annual performance for the first time, please note that the theatrical performance is a full day event for the performers (activities include staging+lighting practice, fulldress rehearsal, and final performance). We have reserved the Louis Mayer Theater for from 12/18 to 12/20. Most dancers will be at the theater from 1pm to 9pm on Saturday 12/19 and 2-6pm on Sunday). We also have two extra rehearsals in the month of December: (1) Sunday, 12/6, 3:30-6:30pm, (2) following Sunday, 12/13, also 3:30-6:30pm. Please mark your calendar accordingly for them as well. Lets's work together to make it another great show season. 2009 Classes Start from January 6th Just to confirm that our new classes in 2009 starts from Tuesday, January 6th. Online signup for the new classes are now open. Wish everyone have a great holiday season! What a fantastic show What a fantastic fantastic fantastic performance by our dancers and singers! The Santa Clara University's theater manager Joe were blown away by our show and said "It is better than shows in Las Vegas!" He has been at the theater for more than 15 years and told us our show is way above most dance companies he has ever seen, from the little ones to the adults, and wish we could do at least twice a year at their theater rather than once. Maybe we should form a dance company soon. :-) And what an outstanding job by our volunteers, our stage managers and staff, back stage managers and staff, all excellent class moms...! Because of their effort the show was executed almost flawlessly. What a great team! Five Teams Performed at the Children's Discovery Museum On Saturday Feb. 15 1:30pm and 2:30pm, 5 of our children's dance teams are invited to perform at the "World on Stage" event at the San Jose Children's Discovery Museum. Again, their amazing performance won a lot of applauses from the audience and the organizers. Our Dancers Shine on Local Spring Festival Events On 2/6 night, Sonya and Tiffany performed "Return of the Heroines" at the Stanford University Chinese Spring Festival and did very well, tons of praises from the audience. On 2/9 night, our level 4 class dancers performed "DoSiDo Sonata" at the Evergreen Chinese Community Spring Festival event and there performance was considered best of the show by many. Our Dancers Helped the Red Cross Raise Fund for Cancer Patients On 1/26, our dancers performed "Festive Celebration" and "Spirit of the Carnival" at a Charity event organized by the Red Cross for the benefit of cancer patients. The event took place in Fremont Adult School Theater and all proceeds goes to the Red Cross. We are very proud of our dancers for their contribution. 2007 Winter Showcase a Great Success what a great show! Everyone, from toddlers to adults, were doing great on stage. And speciall thank to all volunteers lead by Anchi, Peifei, Janice, and all class moms. Pictures and video snippets are available in the the gallery area. Mark your calendars: 12/2, 11/11, 11/18, 12/1 Showcase and Preparation Our annual performance this year will be on Dec 2nd at the Mayer Theater, Santa Clara University. Furthermore, given what we have learned in preparing for last year's showcase, this year we are planning 3 rehearsal sessions. The times are as follows: First Performance Rehearsal: Nov 11, 4:30 - 6:30pm Second Performance Rehearsal: Nov 18, 4:30 - 6:30pm Stage Rehearsal: Dec 1st, 6:00 - 9:00pm (adults) Hope this early announcement will help you schedule your time around December.
